Our 2′x2′ Ribbed FSC® Massaranduba Deck Tiles are Made in the USA, this wood tile is exactly like the Massaranduba 2’x2’ smooth version but uses slats with a ribbed profile on the surface. This ribbed profile has gently rounded ridges that provide a cooler walking surface than the smooth-face tiles. They also catch the light differently for a more pronounced contrast when installed in a parquet pattern. Absolutely comfortable on bare feet, these are perfect for steps on or around a hot tub or pool area where you want extra grip.
The wood has reddish tones which will fade in a few seasons to a silver patina (like other woods do), but the original color can be refreshed with pressure-washing to remove the depleted lignum cells on the surface to expose fresh wood. The wood for this deck tile is sourced from an FSC®-certified forest concession, which means that forest is selectively harvested, and replanted to grow more trees instead of converted to another use. This is not only good for the environment, but the FSC®-certification can also be a great advantage for adding LEED points to meet higher-standard Green Building Council standards.
