Ipê Planter Box

This beautiful garden box is crafted from solid Ipê (also known as Brazilian Walnut or Ironwood). We call it the ‘Lifetime’ Planter Box not only because the wood will outlast even the very youngest of those reading this, but also because we overbuilt it to impress our first Customer, who needed a planter box that wouldn’t tip over in the high desert winds of her home. This box weighs 40 lbs empty….so it definitely has not tipped over for her.

This planter box looks like fine furniture due to the varied grain and warm color of the wood, and the craftsmanship of the construction. Ipê is one of the hardest and most dense woods in the world, and because of this, it will outlast every other wood planter box. In addition, all fastening hardware in our planter box is stainless steel, and will not corrode or give way. Thus, this box earns the ‘Lifetime’ nickname. Compare the value of this planter box to the common juvenile Cedar planter boxes that are only stapled together.

The Ipê hardwood is grown and legally harvested in Brazil. The pieces we use are short-length downfall stock from the production of long-length decking. Typically, these short pieces are burned as boiler fuel at the sawmill, but we have reclaimed them to make a long-lasting beautiful piece of outdoor furniture. Made in the US.
