Our residential hardwood deck tiles are meant to provide a warmer and more attractive alternative to the concrete patio deck. Or as a more foot-friendly and natural walking step through your garden or to a hot tub. They are stoutly constructed of the same high-quality, durable hardwood as our commercial deck tiles, and are the only 1×1′ deck tiles made in the US. Ipê (ee-pay) is the most popular species (also known as Ironwood), but we also produce these tiles in FSC®-certified options including FSC®-Ipê, FSC®-Massaranduba, and FSC®-Cumaru. All of our wood supply is legally and sustainably harvested. Learn more about this product.
If laid over an existing flat deck or patio surface, these tiles are easily parqueted together, connected by a sturdy ABS plastic ‘foot’ that ties the 4 corners together securely. Truly a ‘DIY’ installation, or just as easy of an ‘Undo-It-Yourself’ if you want to move the tiles to a new location or for cleaning the surface underneath. This hardwood deck can be part of your outdoor living space, no matter where you go next.
And our tiles beat the competition hands-down for durability. While other inter-locking deck tiles are based on a low-grade plastic backer, our tiles are built entirely of wood and will not break or flex. Their plastic backer often breaks off locking tabs during the first installation, or over the first season or two due to exposure and cannot be repaired. Our modular system can be assembled and dis-assembled many times, and any component can be interchanged or replaced if necessary. You’ll be able to use our tiles over several decades, and in multiple locations. With that kind of timeframe, our deck tiles become a very good value indeed.
These tiles can also be used as a stand-alone step through the garden or to a hot tub, or embedded into a gravel or dirt path. Like most tropical hardwoods, they can withstand direct ground contact for many, many years without rotting (Ipê in particular is rated by the U.S. Forest Products Laboratory for 25 years or more when in direct contact with dirt, gravel, or sand).
We can also provide a custom kit precisely measured and packaged to fit your particular deck for an additional charge. Simply give us the exact dimensions and shape of the area you would like to cover, and we’ll figure out the rest. Transitions are also available to allow compatibility with an entry door, or to another flat surface.
