The FSC® Ipê 2×4′ Smooth deck tile is made exactly like the non-certified version and looks the same, weighs the same and wears the same, but the wood for this deck tile is sourced from an FSC®-certified forest concession, which means that forest is selectively-harvested, and replanted to grow more trees instead of converted to another use. This is not only good for the environment, but the FSC®-certification can also be a great advantage for adding LEED points to meet higher-standard Green Building Council standards.
